T14 Chinese Law Schools
Share
Inspired by the US T14 and UK T14, we have established the designation of China T14 to denote a widely recognised, though informal, classification of fourteen institutions that anchor the top tier of Chinese legal education. Spanning the country's most powerful comprehensive universities, Peking, Tsinghua, Fudan, and others, alongside its dedicated political-science-and-law institutions, most notably China University of Political Science and Law, the China T14 reflects decades of dominance in the Ministry of Education's national discipline evaluations, in graduate placement into the judiciary, the procuratorate, and the country's largest law firms, and in the production of the scholars who shape Chinese legal scholarship and legislative drafting. For students plotting a career across China's courts, government ministries, state-owned enterprises, and the major firms of Beijing, Shanghai, and the Greater Bay Area, a degree from a China T14 institution remains one of the most reliable signals of academic pedigree and professional access.
