Our proprietary rights extend to the use of both the name and logo, as well as offering products and services under the UOLLB First Class Law Notes trademark. We retain exclusive rights to deploy the name and logo and to provide products and services carrying the UOLLB designation. No licence, whether express or implied, is granted to any party for the use of this trademark.

UOLLB®

UOL®

We wish to control the use of the UOL trademark to foster a fair and diverse environment for legal education. You are eligible to use the UOL trademark in compliance with our trademark terms only if you are an accredited UK institution. Any other individual or entity does not have the right to rely on our trademark terms in respect of the UOL trademark.

UOL Trademark Terms

We permit all accredited UK institutions to use the UOL trademark without charge and application, provided they comply with our trademark terms. Please carefully review these terms before using the UOL trademark, as they provide clarity regarding permitted and prohibited uses.

We reserve the right to modify these terms for the UOL trademark at any time without prior notice. Any amendments will be effective immediately upon being posted on our official website. Your continued use of the UOL trademark constitutes acceptance of the modified terms, and it is advisable to review them regularly.

Your use of the UOL trademark is contingent upon your compliance with these terms. By using the UOL trademark, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to these terms. Any unauthorised use or violation of these terms may result in the termination of your rights to use the UOL trademark.

Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the UOL trademark solely for the purposes outlined in these terms and for no other purpose.

In accordance with these terms, you are permitted to use the UOL trademark (without the sign ® ) for the purposes of (a) identifying or promoting your institution and programmes in connection with educational and related services; (b) creating promotional materials, including website pages and social media posts, provided that such use is incidental and complies with applicable laws and regulations; and (c) any other use explicitly authorised in writing by the UOL trademark owner.

You agree not to (a) use the UOL trademark in a manner that may mislead or deceive the public; (b) employ the UOL trademark in a way that implies endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship without explicit authorisation; and (c) engage in any activities that may compromise the integrity, reputation, or goodwill of the UOL trademark.

The UOL trademark must not be used generically. A trademark becomes generic when it is used as a common name for a category of products or services. One way to avoid generic use is to use the UOL trademark as an adjective, for example:

This licence does not enable you to claim ownership of the UOL trademark in any way. Any assertion of ownership or proprietary rights in the UOL trademark constitutes an infringement of our trademark rights. If you have found any infringement of our trademarks, please contact us to report the infringement. We will take any action we reasonably deem appropriate.

All rights, title, and interest in the UOL trademark, including any associated intellectual property rights, are owned and retained by the trademark owner. Any use not expressly authorised by these terms is strictly prohibited. The UOL trademark owner reserves the right to take appropriate legal action to enforce these terms and protect the UOL trademark from unauthorised use.

You bear full liability for any inappropriate use of the UOL trademark. We accept no responsibility for any consequences arising from your use of the UOL trademark.

Your right to use the UOL trademark may be terminated at any time for violation of these terms or for any reason deemed appropriate by the trademark owner. Once your licence is revoked, you must promptly cease using the UOL trademark and remove any associated materials from all public domains. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in legal action by the trademark owner.
