International Trademark Classification

The International Trademark Classification (ITC) is a standardised system for classifying goods and services for trademark registration purposes. It is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation and is based on the Nice Agreement.

The ITC is a hierarchical classification system that groups goods and services into different classes and subclasses. Each class represents a distinct category of goods or services, and each subclass provides further specificity within that category. The classification helps ensure consistency and uniformity in the registration and examination of trademarks across different jurisdictions. Currently, the ITC consists of 45 classes.
