UOL Introduction to Land Law

Introduction to Land Law is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the legal principles governing land and property. This course explores the intricacies of land tenure, titles, interests, rights, estates, possession, liens, equity, and trusts.


1. Introduction

The opening module sets the stage by introducing students to the overarching principles of land law. Students explore the historical development of land law, its societal importance, and the fundamental concepts that underpin the legal framework governing land.


2. Land Tenure

Land tenure is a central theme in land law. This module delves into the various ways land can be held, including freehold and leasehold estates. Students examine the distinctions between these forms of tenure and the legal implications for both landowners and tenants.


3. Land Titles

4. Land Interests

8. Liens
